About Event

Building on the incredible momentum of our first two research roundtable events, the GenAI Collective is returning to the South Bay to run it back! Join the community for an evening where the future of AI unfolds in real time! 🤩

This is a rare opportunity to dive deep into the intricacies of AI research, directly engaging with the researchers leading the charge. This isn't just an event; it's a breeding ground for inspiration, a space where the next big ideas are born. Whether you're an industry veteran or a curious observer, your presence will contribute to a richer, more diverse exploration of what AI can become. Get ready to explore, learn, and grow!! 🚀

Featured Researchers

  • Jed White

    • Bio: Jed (CTO and co-founder Andi) has been programming since age 8, and sold his first software aged 12. He studied computer science (USyd-part/USFCA), was editor-in-chief of Australia's top computer magazine at 23, before making a popular start page with 3m users, and building a media search and personalization startup. He has 20+ years experience in search and AI.

    • Abstract: LLMs, hallucinations and search. Why near enough is not nearly good enough. AI accuracy and halluincations. What hallucinations? I’m glad you asked.

  • Jay Mandal

    • Bio: Jay is a C-level executive, entrepreneur, lawyer, and fellow & guest lecturer at Stanford. He has co-founded and led a data, analytics & AI business at SAP.  At Stanford, he researches and teaches classes on AI and generative AI topics, with a focus on its usage in enterprises.

    • Abstract: Companies are captivated by the potential of generative artificial intelligence (AI) to transform their businesses, but many don’t know exactly how. Jay Mandal's research paper “Getting beyond the sandbox: a playbook for developing generative AI solutions for enterprise applications” provides companies a framework on how to prioritize use cases and start building. The key elements covered are: (1) Developing solid use cases; (2) Developing a solution and using proprietary data; (3) Which type of generative AI model to use; (4) Risk mitigation to enable enterprise readiness for generative AI; and (5) Optimizing the user-experience (UX).

  • ✨ Tim Salzmann ✨

    • Bio: Tim is currently a researcher at Intrinsic, an Alphabet company. Prior to that he completed his PhD at Technical University of Munich and worked at Google DeepMind.

    • Abstract: Scene Graph VIT (arxiv.org/pdf/2403.14270): A Scene Graph is an environment representation in structured language which includes open-vocabulary object detection and their semantic relationships. We present a transformer based encoder-only model for generating Scene Graphs from visual input, and explore their potential applications in robotics.
