Ethereum Time Capsule
To celebrate Ethereum’s 10-year anniversary, a new community-driven initiative – supported by EthCC, Protocol Guild, and Shutter Network – invites the entire Ethereum ecosystem to leave its mark permanently on the chain.
Launching 30 June at EthCC[8] in Cannes, the Ethereum Time Capsule will collect memories, messages, memes, predictions, art, and on-chain artifacts from builders, artists, traders, and users around the world. Submissions will remain open for one month – closing on 30 July 2025, exactly ten years to the day since Ethereum’s genesis block.
This is more than a celebration. The Ethereum Time Capsule is a permanent archive of the network’s story – capturing the culture, creativity, and chaos that defined its rise. Submissions to the capsule will be encrypted using Shutter Network’s threshold encryption, remaining completely private and tamper-proof until the unstoppable reveal on 30 July 2026. Once decrypted, every submission will be immutably recorded on the Ethereum blockchain forever.
Anyone can contribute. Every submission costs approximately $2.50 USD (0.001 ETH). 100% of proceeds go to the Protocol Guild, supporting the long-term sustainability of Ethereum core development.
Built by the community, the capsule is concrete on how to preserve on-chain history and support core development.
During EthCC you will also be able to find postcards that will provide you a QR code and a link to learn more.
