Workshop #6: Founder’s Workshop
Connect directly with founders and have the chance to address unique concerns and challenges that founders may face operationalizing a company. You’ll have the opportunity to connect directly with startup leaders and gain firsthand insight into what it takes to operationalize a biotech venture—from bench to business.
We’ll kick off the evening with a panel discussion featuring trailblazing founders who are building breakthrough solutions in diagnostics, drug delivery, and infectious disease prevention:
Andrew Stephens, PedELISA – Developing a microfluidics chip that enables biomarker-guided treatment in critical care
Priyan Weerappuli, Extrinsic Immunity – Developing a novel drug formulation that disrupts the metastasis-promoting interaction between neutrophil extracellular traps and solid tumors
Sarah Beatty, Culturewell – Advancing germ monitoring for infection prevention
Kalyan Handique, Celsee & Handylab – Harnessing the gentle power of gravity to break down barriers in single-cell analysis & developing and manufacturing molecular diagnostic assays and automation platforms
Lead the conversation with potential discussion topics or questions such as fundraising, how to hire/manage a team, exiting academia, landing a pharma partnership, etc. Conversations have historically focused on the ‘nuts and bolts’ of operating a venture.
Food will be served!
