Workshop - Software Engineers Interview Guide
What are the Workshop Series?
We know how challenging it can be to stand out in today’s competitive job market, especially for recent graduates and bootcamp alumni. This workshop series is designed to:
Provide real-world, practical experience.
Help you develop technical skills through guided, hands-on sessions.
Facilitate networking with peers and industry professionals.
Who is it for?
Bootcamp grads or self-taught devs looking to gain confidence
Junior/mid-level engineers preparing for interviews
What to expect:
This Workshop is a practical deep dive into the software engineering interview process, designed to give you first-hand experience and personalised feedback.
You'll join a small group led by an experienced instructor, Ahmed, who will walk through mock interviews covering data structures, system design, and interview strategy. In this interactive format, you won’t just watch — you'll participate, discuss, and reflect in breakout sessions with peers.
By the end of the session, you’ll have a clearer understanding of what hiring managers look for, how to structure your answers, and how to prepare effectively for your next technical interview.
This session will be led by Ahmed, Senior Software Engineer @ BBC
Why is there a £5 fee?
We’re introducing a small £5 fee for this workshop — here’s why:
In the past, we’ve found that free events often lead to no-shows, which affects the experience for everyone involved.
By charging a small fee, we’re helping to ensure that those who sign up are committed to showing up and making the most of the session.
This also shows respect for our instructors, who are generously giving their time and experience to support your learning.
Funds collected will go towards the children's Code Club.
If cost is a genuine barrier, reach out via teams@somalisintech.com — we’d rather help you attend than miss out.
