About Event

Juneteenth is a significant day commemorating the end of slavery in the United States and celebrating Black freedom and achievement. Our upcoming Searcher Mentoring Workshop falls on Juneteenth—a portmanteau of "June" and "nineteenth," referring to June 19, 1865. On this day, over two months after the end of the Civil War, the final enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation was ordered in Texas. Juneteenth is a day of deep significance, commemorating the end of slavery in the United States and celebrating Black freedom and achievement.

As part of our workshop, we'll create space for anyone who wishes to share thoughts or reflections on what Juneteenth means to you—not just as individuals, but also as aspiring entrepreneurs and members of our community. This is an opportunity for us to listen, learn, and support each other, as well as to consider the broader context of entrepreneurship, opportunity, and equity.

Please be aware that this Workshop is private and exclusively intended for our fellows and invited participants. However, we are sharing this information on this platform to serve as a reminder for our students.
