About Event

Welcome to our St. Louis gathering for February!

To kick off W&C St. Louis 2025, we'll be touring the Danforth Plant Science Center. The Danforth Center has been pioneering plant science in St. Louis for decades, with their research contributing to advances in a multitude of areas, a few of which include:

  • Developing technology that reduces the need for nitrogen fertilizer used in agriculture

  • Increasing the productivity and nutritional value of staple food crops in developing regions of the world that are generally underserved

  • Restoring agricultural and natural ecosystems through knowledge about roots, soil, and microbial communities

Please note, the tour is capped at 18 participants. If we have higher interest, I’ve created a waitlist option and will set a second date. Additional information about the tour from the Danforth Center:

  • Tours generally last one hour and are fairly walking intensive (stairs, ramps, walkways).

  • Our facility is not open to the public, so please remain with the group for the duration of your visit. All guests must sign in at the front desk upon arrival.

  • Photography is permitted for personal or non-commercial use only in public areas (PHOTOGRAPHY IS NOT ALLOWED in or near labs, core facilities or greenhouses).

  • Please do not bring food or drink, other than bottled water.

  • The Danforth Center is a smoke-free environment.

  • Within the parking lot, look for signs indicating visitor parking (near the front of the building). Tour guests are invited to park here.  If all visitors’ spots are taken, then please park in any other spot in the lot.  Guests will walk towards the circle drive to enter the front of the building next to the Kemper water garden.
