Navigating the next 28 years: a 40 min summary of Sovereign Individual and it's implications
[Note: no need to have read the book before this talk, it's for everyone]
In 1997, Sovereign Individual predicted the rise of Bitcoin, remote work, Network States and social media. This is a presentation follower by a discussion on what it got right and implications for what to expect over the next 28 years.
I'll supplement this with thoughts from Ray Dalio's "Changing World Order", Mustafa Suleyman's "the Coming Wave" and Balaji Srinivasan's "Network State".
Reading the book changed my life, but it was mega dense, so I've tried to make it's views and the implications of those views very palatable so you can better navigate the next chapters of your lives.
Below is a claude description to add some Jazz.
In 1997, two authors predicted Bitcoin, remote work, and the collapse of traditional institutions - 28 years before it happened.
Join us as we analyze The Sovereign Individual's incredible predictions alongside today's mega-trends: Dalio's "Changing World Order," Balaji's "Network States," and Suleyman's "Coming Wave." We'll examine their hits, misses, and most importantly - what their framework reveals about tomorrow's fortune-making opportunities.
If you'd acted on this book in 1997, you'd be a billionaire. The question is: what massive opportunity is it pointing to now that everyone else is missing?
The next Bitcoin isn't crypto. And the clues are hiding in plain sight.
The book is fairly dense, so I do my best to make it palatable, whilst weaving in other solid pieces on this topic (Changing World Order by Ray Dalio, The Coming Wave by Mustafa Suleyman, The Network State by Balaji Srinivasan).
