"Artist Unknown" Gallery Party
After a year(!!) of hosting low-key art workshops, we at Slow Night find ourselves with an interesting problem: what do we do with all this abandoned artwork?
Most of our guests bring their creations home with them, but some choose to leave their explorations behind with us at the end of the evening. Much of this work is striking — some silly and funny, some poignant and thought-provoking, and some just flat-out gorgeous. Half the time, we can't believe they've been abandoned! We've hoarded these treasures for months and are so excited to share them with you on this special evening.
We'll be displaying, auctioning, and selling a curated selection of beautiful abandoned artwork, with all net proceeds generated from the event going to support SickKids and their Creative Arts Therapy program.
Just like our workshops, we invite you to come out even if art isn't really "your thing". We'll have drinks, music, and cake by our friends at Kwento (it is our first birthday, after all!!!). Drinks are kindly sponsored in part by Geez Louise, and we'll have our bartender crafting cocktails and mocktails all night long.
We founded Slow Night to encourage people to examine their own relationship to creativity. Art is truly what you choose to make of it, engaging in creative acts is its own worthwhile pursuit, and beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
This is a great chance to support a charitable cause and take home an original, framed art piece — perfect for adding some pizzazz to your space!
