Why Being Good is Good for You
We are excited to welcome Professor Stephen G. Post, Director of the Center for Medical Humanities, Compassionate Care and Bioethics, and Professor of Family, Population and Preventive Medicine at Stony Brook University.
This session will be an informal and open discussion, where we will seek to discover:
What evidence and reasons there are to show why helping others and being altruistic is good for our health – particularly with regards to longer, healthier lives?
Recommendations for people over 45+ in terms of the best things they can do to help others. Where do we start?
About Professor Stephen G. Post
Stephen is a world famous academic and best selling author of ‘Why Good Things Happen to Good People: How to Live a Longer, Happier, Healthier Life by the Simple Act of Giving’. He is Professor of Preventive Medicine at Stony Brook University. He’s done a TED talk and been the recipient of many awards and internationally recognised directorships.
