Book club #5 - Rare Breed

Author: Sunny Bonnell,

An American leadership and brand expert, wordsmith, and motivational speaker. She is also the CEO & Chief Visionary of Motto, one of the leading branding companies in the country.

Sunny has been called a “visionary thinker with a rare breed of talent.” As a leadership and strategic brand advisor for CXO leaders, Sunny aims to dismantle business-as-usual, think around corners, challenge convention, and break what needs to be broken.

Under Sunny's guidance, Motto’s award-winning work has disrupted every category imaginable for brands such as Microsoft, Google, Hershey’s, the NFL, Twentieth Century Fox; And her work has been featured in Forbes, The Verge, ESPN, Fast Company, Entrepreneur, and hundreds more publications. She is also a member of Rolling Stone Culture Council.

Sunny is the co-author of Rare Breed,

A Guide to Success for the Defiant, Dangerous and Different (HarperCollins).

The book’s thesis is that rebellious, audacious, obsessed, weird, and emotional are traits that should get you fired

Rare Breed is a virtue for success in a world mired with lookalikes, bs artists, and best practicing practitioners.

At the heart of Rare Breed is an unorthodox business book that focuses on seven so-called “vices” that society deems unconventional and counterintuitive to success. Sunny and Ashleigh reframe them as virtues to be celebrated.
