Makers gonna make - Episode 3
What is Makers gonna make about?
Do you have a side project you’d love to work on more, but there’s not enough time in your regular day?
Do you have an app idea that you’d like to build, but you can’t find the motivation to start?
Would you love to meet other indie makers who are also building cool stuff in their spare time?
If this resonates with you, keep on reading. Our monthly event puts emphasis on building, hacking and tinkering with other like-minded makers, followed by an opportunity to present what you did in a community where we help each other, we value honest feedback and help hold each other accountable. We aspire to make something out of nothing and ship it to the world.
Who is it for?
Anyone with an idea, a little project or a digital product they’d like to build. Whether you're a coding novice or a seasoned pro, have a recurring monthly revenue or none at all. Prefer the latest JavaScript framework, the magic of no-code, or maybe just a single index.php file, all are welcome. This is the place where you can start, learn and conquer all the features that have been sitting in your backlog for ages.
Who is it not for?
Promoters, agencies, sales and hiring folks - this is a space for makers. It’s about building things, turning napkin sketches into products, helping each other out, bouncing ideas around and providing feedback.

We have a limited capacity and we believe strongly in equality of opportunity. We’ll process tickets on a first come first served basis, but if the capacity fills up, we won’t have the means to increase it further. Therefore if you can’t attend, please be respectful to others in the waitlist and update your RSVP.
What is provided?
Comfortable seating and desks.
Whiteboard and projector.
Toilets, accessible access and baby changing room.
Will there be food?
We will have pastries in the morning plus coffee and refreshments available throughout the day. And we'll also have lunch! Coffee is provided by Edinburgh's very own coffee roasters The Source and drinks and pizzas are covered by the entrepreneur's company Shopify.
Is this event free?
Yes. It is completely free, however there’s a small price to pay on your end too - you'll be sacrificing one day that you could have spent with your family, your friends, doing sports, binging Netflix or doing absolutely nothing in favour of more keyboard and screen time. If you’re happy to pay this price, please come along, you’ll be in a good company.
Code of Conduct
Our events are dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone. One's freedom ends where another's begins. We do not tolerate harassment of event participants in any form. We will be abiding by the Codebase Code of conduct.
