What is this event? This meetup is a friendly and fun social event for all people living in or close to Astoria that are either new to the area or want to expand their circle locally and meet cool people.
What makes Astoria Connect different? This meetup has always had a hard focus on helping people connect with one another. Everyone gets nametags where they write their name and something funny or interesting about them. This allows for instant ice breaking and connection. The amount of new friendships and friend circles formed from Astoria Connect is unparalleled. Everyone is friendly and everyone walks away with new friendships and connections to make the neighborhood feel more like home.
Are there any specials? There will be happy hour drink specials from 7-8 for all those attending and drink/food specials all night.
Should I come alone? Yes! In fact, the great majority of people come alone. This event is designed for people to meet new people & connect in a friendly environment. You are welcome (and encouraged) to come alone, you never know what amazing new connections are waiting for you.
Should I bring a friend ? Yes, of course. The more, the merrier.
What's the vibe like? The vibe is usually chill and positive. Everyone's super friendly and approachable, since everyone comes with the purpose of connection. If you're looking to make new connections, you won't find an easier way.
What's the atmosphere like? It's a well lit friendly bar atmosphere with good space to flow between groups and good background music, perfect for conversing and getting to know other people.
Where do I find you guys? Just show up to Katch and we'll be there to greet you.
How many people show up? Usually around 60-120 people show up. In the end, one new amazing connection can change your life, whether meeting them from a big group or small!
Do I have to live in Astoria to attend? Those living near-ish to Astoria or who just want to come to a cool hangout are of course also welcome!
