Eating Our Feelings, (And How Not To) with Jennifer Carr
Welcome to our monthly global - Members Only - Coaching Circle session!
As always, we'll start the session with a mindful check-in facilitated by Francesco before we warmly welcome our new Coaches with Impact members.
After that, Jennifer takes the lead and starts the main part of the session with a short opening meditation, breath work, or somatic exercise to help us get grounded in the present moment before Francesco shares updates about our community with us.
And then... our learning experience, an interactive 60-minute mindfulness-based workshop!
This month, Jennifer will guide and explore with us why so many people are challenged by the common phenomenon that is emotional (also known as stress-based) eating.
The workshop will explore the neurobiological triggers that can cause individuals to "check out" with food and hinder both an individual's self-esteem and health goals. We'll explore stress and the brain's reward system, cortisol and the stress response, the amygdala and emotional regulation, as well as the six different hunger types (hint: actual hunger is only one of them).
We'll then dive into practical somatic and cognitive strategies that are easy to implement in your daily life. These will help you develop more mindful awareness, presence (pausing), and self-leadership to shift behaviors toward more empowered choices.
Jennifer's session will close with guided journaling prompts and an opportunity for Q&A.
We'll close our global meeting with a quick check-out, smiles, and warm goodbyes.

Jennifer Carr (she/her)
Jennifer Carr is a Certified Eating Psychology Coach based in Barcelona. Blending mindfulness based tools, somatic work and compassionate enquiry Jen helps clients excavate their root causes and belief systems that underpin disordered eating, fear around food and body dysmorphia.
Her end goal is to support clients in recovering a deep self intimacy and trust in their bodies and appetites, releasing the outside noise and inner critic, to cultivate greater freedom, pleasure and balance in their approach to food (and life).
