Speakers:
Vincent Zhou is Team USA figure skater, 2-time Olympian, Olympic gold medalist, and 2-time World medalist. He is also a TEDx speaker and is involved with youth & AAPI leadership and mental health advocacy. He is currently studying economics at Brown University. Caroline Silby, Ph.D., CMPC is a renowned sports psychologist and Head of Sport Psychology for US Figure Skating High Performance. Awarded the 2023 United States Olympic Committee Service Provider of the Year, she has worked with numerous Olympic and World Champions. Dr. Silby holds a Doctorate in Sports Psychology from the University of Virginia and is a former elite athlete.
Host: Dr. Xuhui Shao is the Managing Partner of Foothill Ventures, investing in early-stage tech startups in AI applications, enterprise software, and sensor/data/algo companies. Formerly, he was Yahoo's VP of Engineering and a founding technologist at Turn and ID Analytics. Dr. Shao holds a BS and MS from Tsinghua University and a Ph.D. in EECS from the University of Minnesota.

In this talk, find out what makes a winning mindset from the perspective of Vincent Zhou, a Team USA Figure Skater and Olympic gold medalist.
Session 2 (20min): Dr. Caroline Silby on "Powering Your Mind for High Performance"
Given that it is a minimal performance enhancement of 3% that can make a significant difference in elite sports between an athlete winning the gold medal or not qualifying to make the Olympic Team, Dr. Silby will help us explore how we can use the strategies and approaches of elite athletes to power performance.
