The Web3 We Want

​THE FUTURE IS OURS TO CREATE

​Community is about shared purpose, belonging, and connection. When we center community around money, we are likely to leave many behind. And we don't pay our friends to be our friends.

​Web3 has so far created a lot of energy around money-making schemes. Many of the primary players have come from financial, VC, and dark web backgrounds. That may not be a problem, but it could mean our future web could become prey to a more extreme version of the power dynamics that emerged from Web 2.

​When communities require having at least hundreds if not thousands of dollars to play, it leaves out most people. When we join communities with anticipation of financial gain, how does that affect the way we show up for each other?

​Conversely, if financial gain could create more equity, what would we need to do to prevent dragoneering and land grabs?

​The blockchain was created to solve the problem of not needing to have to trust. But if we actually want to foster trust, what might we create?

​Questioning is a community/project to consider approaches to web3 to create opportunities that are human-centered and not about financial gain.
