HP Lovecraft Halloween Party

​Presented by Passage Press. Lovecraftian forces lurk under the sea, in the void of space, or on the edge of the earth. A cultist, explorer, professor, alchemist, detective and the like are always drawn in, oftentimes never to return. Ghosts, goths, fallen angels, vampires, wizards and zombies resemble the lost souls in Lovecraft's abyss. For Passage Press’ Holloween party, choose a costume that evokes cosmic horrors, intrepid explorers, reclusive cultists, or anything else that’s sure to drive us mad.

Lovecraft's work presents a world in which man is existentially insignificant and governed entirely by forces beyond his control. Inevitable doom, alienation, madness, and mania are all that lay in wait for those who go too far in the pursuit of forbidden knowledge. Sometimes, these punishments befall them through no fault of their own. As our world becomes more and more senseless, H.P. Lovecraft’s incomprehensible, abyssal cosmology somehow makes more and more sense.
