Vikmatic is a Brooklyn-based producer and DJ who grew up surrounded by the influence of Indian classical, jazz, and fusion music (he also played the trumpet for 10 years!). His travels have inspired him to pick up sounds from all over the world—such as Afro, Brazilian and Peruvian music—and influenced his overall sound, which revolves around dance music, house, jazz, and funk. Vikmatic is a resident on Boxout.fm and has monthly DJ residencies at Bar Meridian and Pips. You can frequently find him DJing around New York at places like Eavesdrop, Good Bar, The Brooklyn Museum, and Commune—as well as a few of his favorite spots in Mexico City.
Commune is a natural wine bar + garden located on the border of Clinton Hill and Bedford Stuyvesant. It has become a growing hub for local artists and the home of some delicious food pop-ups.
