βποΈ Workshop
βHow to build Tiny agents in JS by Tyson Kuthur Thomas
βDemystify AI agents by building them yourself! This hands-on workshop takes you inside the "black box" of AI agents, teaching you how they think, why prompts matter, and how to give them real-world capabilities through tools.
βStarting with a simple agent and progressing to sophisticated deep research agents, you'll gain practical experience building intelligent applications that can reason, use tools, and work together to solve complex problems.
βYou'll understand:
βHow agents think: The inner workings and architecture of AI agents
βWhy prompts matter: Crafting effective prompts for agent behavior
βTool integration: Building tools that let agents interact with the real world
βWeb deployment: Running agents directly in browsers for privacy and offline use
βWhat do I need for this workshop?
βPre-workshop: Clone the repository at https://github.com/tysonthomas9/ai-agents-workshop and follow the setup instructions to be ready to code along!
βTo get the most from this workshop you'll want to be comfortable writing JavaScript. It'll also help if you have at least a little experience running commands in a terminal.
βYou'll need to bring along your own computer (preferrably a laptop!) with the following software installed:
βBrowser: Chrome/Edge 113+ (for WebGPU support)
βNode.js: Version 18 or higher
βCode Editor: Any (VS Code recommended)
βGroq API Key: Free at console.groq.com
