IMW Delhi - Themes
Scaling Dispute Resolution Infrastructure for the Next Billion
From regulatory bodies to the police, how can India embed ODR into government ecosystems and unlock a faster, more inclusive path to justice?
Panel 2
India’s Mediation Moment
Can India fuel a new generation of Indian Mediators backed with quality benchmarks, and the vision of the Mediation Council of India?
History of IMW
Founded by law students from NUJS Kolkata who were shocked to discover that over 50% of Indians were unaware of mediation, IMW was born out of a commitment to be resourceful despite limited resources.
What started with a few student-led awareness drives in Kolkata quickly scaled into a national campaign. From neighbourhoods and schools to local courts, the initiative grew to include over 2,000 student volunteers across 50+ cities.
Through street plays, flash mobs, conferences, and public outreach activities, IMW strives to make mediation a mainstream and accessible tool for conflict resolution in India.
