6:15-6:30pm - Opening Climate North Talk and Sponsor Intros

6:30-6.50pm - Suzanne Faiza, Tapestry Capital

This presentation will discuss how community finance can lead us to a sustainable future. Suzanne – who leads Tapestry's education, research and policy advocacy- will discuss community finance, community bonds, and how they impact ownership and stewardship in local communities. You will have the opportunity to learn from examples of how community bonds have been used by non-profits, charities and cooperatives to create community infrastructure. Did you know YOU can also get involved as a retail investor? Join us in this discussion and learn how you can invest in and build your local, and sometimes not-so-local communities.

6.50-7:15pm - Emily Mercy, GoParity

This presentation will answer the question: How can we make impact finance more accessible to everyday citizens? Emily will dive into the world of crowdlending and explore how this technological tool enables widespread participation in impact investing. When we democratize access to impact finance, we allow more capital to flow into sustainable and equitable initiatives, and we can achieve massive change! We'll close things out by explaining how investors can be a part of this movement and use their money for good!

7:15-7:35pm - Tim Nash, Good Investing

This talk covers basic financial literacy in a way that is engaging and entertaining. Tim takes the participant on a journey to achieving personal financial sustainability. We discuss budgeting for financial goals, investment basics, and how to avoid common financial pitfalls. Examples include the need for an emergency savings account and the difference between stocks & bonds. Ethical decision-making is woven throughout the journey, as participants learn about impact options like credit unions and community bonds. This talk is perfect for an audience wanting to level up their financial knowledge and align their money with their values.
