NYFW - Sustainability Talk: Reet Aus on Upmade, Digital Product Passports, and more.
Join us and meet one of Estonia's major designers changing the fashion industry.
This talk includes Reet Aus and her own brand, though other guest speakers will join in and discuss the direction of the industry, with a particular focus on upcycling, digital product passports, and certifications.
This event is part of New York Fashion Week at The Canvas, with this season's focus being our collaborations with nations like Estonia: fashion and design diplomacy by bringing the future of the industry from around the world to New York City. A special thanks to the Estonian Design House, the Embassy of Estonia in Washington, D.C., and the Permanent Mission of Estonia to the United Nations.
More about the main speaker:
Reet Aus, PhD, is a sustainable fashion designer and ardent visionary who devised industrial upcycling principles that reduce the fashion industry’s impact on environment by circulating fabrics leftover from mass production back into production using the design.
In particular, her collection champions UPMADE®, a certification that enables brands and manufacturers to apply our industrial upcycling method and obtain certification. A circular economy produces zero waste and pollution by design. It is an ideal that the UPMADE® method supports in a real and practical way.
