AI Safety Thursdays: Towards a Connectome of Concepts for Deep Neural Networks

About Event
Description
A `connectome' maps every neuron and synapse in a biological neural network - is it possible to visualize all human interpretable concepts and connections in every layer of an artificial network? How could we do this and what would this look like?
To answer these questions, Matt Kowal presents a framework to perform concept based interpretability as a spectrum in terms of the number of concepts being interpreted. He proposes the 'concept connectome' - a general method that aims to discover every concept in all layers of a deep network and the interaction with all other concepts.
