Improv for self-discovery: Coaching Through Play
The simple yet difficult idea to embrace when playing improvisational theatre is to figure out the stories, characters and ideas with your stage partners in the time when the performance happens. It is thrilling and also terrifying to create something you don’t know yet yourself in front of people. But what if we remember that we already have this innate skill to figure out life one word at a time? Every day we live one moment at a time, going through our days for the first time and every conversation is an improvisation game in itself. How can becoming more aware of our improvisation talents helps us getting to know ourselves and connect with others?
I am excited to host the “Improv for self-discovery” 2h session creating a space for coaching through play - introducing some of my favorite improv exercises that are fun to play and that can also at the same time provide us an insight to our own mind, body and feelings. Coming together we will create a supportive environement to try out new things and stay curious around what can we learn from our experiences. Noone will be asked to perform in front of the others as this session focuses on individual experience and exercises that are played in pairs or small groups.
Please dress comfortably and wear comfy socks for the workshop.
