AI for Biodiversity: Solutions Showcase
Introduction
A powerful new ally for biodiversity is emerging: Artificial Intelligence.
From AI bioacoustics that track the diversity of rainforest species to remote sensing of elephant populations and Microsoft’s AI for Earth engine, scientists, startups, and corporations are harnessing the transformative power of AI for Biodiversity.
We predict that by COP17 in 2026, AI solutions will have been implemented to protect and monitor 100 million hectares of land and ocean – the size of Colombia!
Combining visionary leadership and practical solutions, this event will start with a CEO panel representing organizations that are leading the charge on AI for Biodiversity. After the panel, the event will transform into an interactive showcase of these AI tools, allowing the audience to see the algorithms in action.
The audience will come away with a deeper understanding of the potential of AI for Biodiversity, as well as knowledge of the AI tools that their countries and organizations can implement to reverse biodiversity loss today.
Objective
By demonstrating real-world AI solutions already in action, the goal of this event is to accelerate the implementation of AI tools to protect and monitor 100 million hectares of land and ocean, advancing the goals of the Convention on Biological Diversity.
