book•ish report: a *new visions* book club powerpoint party
Give us your book • ish report! Hit us with a hidden gem or a beloved Blassic in the form of a book, essay collection, or poetry you believe moves us forward in building a love ethic.
THE CATEGORY IS: Black People and Love (based on the bell hooks book, salvation)
HOW IT WORKS:
Choose a Black author. Preference goes to Black women and authors whose work aligns with the theme: BLACK PEOPLE AND LOVE.
Prepare a short presentation. You’ll have 3 minutes to entice the group. Pull us in. Put us on.
Make at least one visual aid. (Slides preferred but but not required.) Keep it simple—tell us what the work is, why it resonates, and what we’d gain from reading it together.
Facilitation is optional. If your read is chosen and you want to help lead the discussion, you’ll collaborate with new visions facilitators.
Every presentation will expand our collective syllabus and might even spark some delightful debate
