This is a series of immersive learning & community events curated to enable people, either already working in or seriously considering a transition to the Climate space, to discover more of their kind across domains and cross-pollinate ideas for action.
Event Details
Mumbai’s biodiversity is often overshadowed by its concrete skyline—but tucked away in Malabar Hill lies a thriving pocket of biodiversity: The Nest. This 1.2-acre space is a carefully restored urban forest with 350+ flora species, ~200 of which are native.
In partnership with Nature:Re, a project undertaken by the RPG Foundation of the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group, we will be diving deep into understanding how our 'natural capital' ties in directly with climate change.
We will be joined by Radha Goenka, Director - RPG Foundation and Katie Bagli, a celebrated author, naturalist & nature storyteller, for
1/ a guided tour of the The Nest - its history & the future of building a continuous green corridor across Mumbai;
2/ a primer on restoration of biodiversity in open urban spaces, revitalizing marine ecosystems and regenerative agriculture;
3/ a deep dive on microclimates and understanding how urban biodiversity is key to lowering Mumbai's increasing average temperatures!
This will be topped off by a collaborative engagement on tangible ideas for furthering the vision of Mumbai's green corridor.
