Zaneta (they.them) is an interdisciplinary artist, sound ritualist, nature field recordist, and podcast host. At the core of their work is a deep desire for remembering our interconnectedness or the Filipinx term, kapwa. It is towards this collective vision of care that Zaneta weaves field recording, ritual, channeling, and somatic and psychic listening practices to create experiences that transform the way participants listen to and relate to their local environment.
Specifically their work focuses on tending spirit ecologies between humxn and non-humxn communities through listening and rituals of reciprocity. Zaneta’s work has been presented in spaces such as the Brooklyn Museum and in 2020 and 2022 their projects Sacred Seasons and Where Land Meets Sky: Geophonic Transmissions for the Body, were awarded the Brooklyn Arts Council award.
