


Expedition: Las Cárcavas
📍 Starting Point:
Our journey begins and ends at Plaza de Toros Las Ventas, centrally located in Madrid. From here, we'll travel comfortably to Pontón de la Oliva in a private vehicle.
We expect to be back at Plaza de Toros Las Ventas around 16:00. However, bear in mind that the end time of the expedition is approximated since hiking depends on the group's pace and any other circumstances that might arise along the hike.
🥾 Route Description:
Explore the spectacular landscapes of Pontón de la Oliva on a circular hiking route, discovering impressive geological formations known as "Las Cárcavas." Formed naturally by erosion, these unique cliffs offer breathtaking viewpoints and unforgettable scenery.
Along our trail we'll pass through:
Pontón de la Oliva Dam (0.5 km): Historic dam built in 1857, a significant landmark in the region.
Cerro Negro (4.2 km): Dramatic landscapes showcasing cliffs shaped by natural erosion.
Mirador III Las Cárcavas (8.3 km): Panoramic viewpoint of stunning geological formations.
Mirador Las Cárcavas (8.6 km): Another spectacular viewpoint highlighting these natural wonders.
Cono de Deyección (10.7 km): Unique erosion landscapes showcasing nature's artistry.
Expect moderate terrain and plenty of opportunities for scenic photography and relaxation.
