Startup Bball 4v4 Tournament 2025 - May 2nd
We would like to invite you to our second 4v4 STARTUP BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT in Sydney on Friday, May 2nd.
We had 70 players last year and are expecting around 120 this year across startup founders, startup employees, investors, and ecosystem supporters.
Last year we only charged a nominal fee but this year we expect total rego to be around $10-$15 due to demand and as the event will include a "fully functional, high quality, and forever yours" reversible startup bball jersey for all registrants! The Jersey will also help us avoid having teams colour coordinate jerseys themselves.
But $10 is all you need to save your slot as a founder or startup peep! We will likely need to cap regos in other categories
EVENT SCHEDULE (Subject to change slightely)
🚨 8:15am to 11:20am - 4 vs. 4 half court basketball tournament (Sydney Uni Sport - Darlington). Teams will get 3-4 games minimum and top teams will face off via single elimination with winner crowned on centre court!
🚨 Noon to 2pm - NBA Finals viewing party and mixer at Royal Hotel Darlington @ 370 Abercrombie St, Darlington. Drinks and nibbles on our wonderful sponsors! Lunch is optional of course.
Players will be mixed and match based on skill and height to create balanced teams and so people get to know each other. We'll share team deets and linkedin profiles ahead of the event for better connecting.
We're here to prioritise fun but players MUST know the rules so nobody gets injured. We've found that players who aren't familiar with the rules can cause injuries accidentally.

Last year we sold out two weeks before the event and I had more than a dozen people begging me to join in the night before and one person try to show up unregistered!
Must register before April 1 to get a custom jersey with your name on back as we need 3 weeks for order to arrive.

Note to out of town players: Blackbird's Sunrise Conference is April 30 to May 1st so travel in for the conf and stay an extra half day for bball!
