About Event

What good is innovation if it doesn’t work for everyone?

Innovation can and should deliver a better quality of life for everyone across the UK, but opportunity and infrastructure are not equally distributed. We think that there is innovation that does have the potential to work for everyone, but it’s not the innovation that is so often held in such high regard. From small local projects to city wide strategies, we see rich and diverse tech innovation grounded in, and emerging from, communities.

In this roundtable we will explore the themes in our upcoming Community Tech essay authored by Rachel Coldicutt and Matt Dowse. The themes include community innovation and inclusive and sustainable infrastructure.

We want to build an irresistible scene, filled with other Careful Troublemakers. Join us at this roundtable to collectively agree how to take this forward.

Promising Trouble is working in partnership with the Centre for Sociodigital Futures and the University of Bristol. The Community Tech programme is supported by Power to Change. The support of the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) is gratefully acknowledged.

The roundtable will take place across two locations connected online;

Phoenix Court, London

Pervasive Media Studio, Watershed, Bristol
