Join Girls Gone Hiking on a private foraging tour through Central Park, led by America's go-to guy for foraging, "Wildman" Steve Brill.
Ever been on a hike and wondered, “Can I eat that mushroom??” This is your chance to find out.
As we stroll through the park, learn how to safely identify edible wild vegetables, herbs, fruits, and mushrooms...turning an everyday walk into a culinary adventure right in our own backyard.
“Wildman” Steve Brill is the legendary urban forager, author, and educator with more than 40 years of experience teaching people in the NY tri-state area how to identify overlooked wild edible plants and mushrooms that many consider mere “weeds.”
@girlsgonehikingnyc is a city girl's hike club designed to build sisterhood on the trail by organizing slow-paced day hikes accessible by public transit from NYC.
What to bring:
Plastic bags for vegetables & herbs
Paper bags for mushrooms
A plastic container for fruit & berries
Drinking water
Wear closed shoes to avoid poison ivy & bugs
A sturdy digging tool for roots is suggested
Where to meet:
Our Central Park meeting spot will be revealed to registered guests
Plan on being there at 9am to check-in & mingle! The tour will start @ 9:15am.
