Panel Discussion Overview
Career Possibilities: Breaking Traditional Career Boundaries in Biopharma Communications
Brought to you by Ticket to Biotech and WEST, hosted by Syneos Health Communications
Communications careers rarely follow predictable paths and the most successful leaders often emerge from unexpected journeys across disciplines, companies, and challenges. This collaborative panel between Ticket to Biotech and WEST brings together communications executives who've navigated these winding paths to strategic roles, offering a candid look at career evolution in our field.
Our panelists have wrestled with career decisions that seemed risky at the time, taking on projects outside their comfort zones, and finding their way when the next step wasn't obvious. They'll share the real story behind their moves between disciplines, including which transitions truly expanded their strategic value, what they wished someone had told them earlier, and how they recognized growth opportunities that others missed. Whether you're considering your next move or building a team with diverse backgrounds, this conversation offers practical insights from those who've built success through nontraditional routes.
Takeaways:
Summarize practical approaches for identifying and pursuing growth opportunities across different communications functions
Review strategies for translating experience from one communications discipline to success in another
Discuss how non-traditional career moves can position you as a more valuable strategic advisor in biopharma
Develop and build confidence to make brave career leaps when conventional paths feel limiting
