Presentation on a Proposal to Improve the Student Center into a Fully Functional Third Space

About
Students at Wayne State want a place to go after school and work: a third space. However, third spaces are in limited supply, even at Wayne State. Year after year young people reportedly become more lonely with one factor being the decline of third spaces like malls and arcades.
We will present a proposal outlining how Wayne State can implement a new third space for its students through improving the Student Center. We will overview the current situation of third spaces at Wayne State, our solutions to this situation, and how we will market this solution to the student population.

Why it Matters
For University Personnel
Increasing student sociability with well designed third spaces increases student wellbeing and leads to higher academic outcomes which increase the graduation rate.
For Educators
The introduction of new university facilities allows new connections for class projects and events outside the classroom. This new Student Center third space allows for an entirely new class of experiences in a dedicated campus third space.
For Students
This proposal for students means they can now experience a dedicated third space on campus made especially for their needs. No longer are spaces mainly designed for food or study.
For Family
A dedicated third space for students means they may reside on campus longer or commute in different ways than before since this new third space fulfills needs not previously fulfilled by other university facilities.
For Friends
Friends are welcome to visit and use this new third space. Now there is a place on campus especially designed for students to bring their friends along for third space experiences.
