About Event
Martin Morrey has a PhD in Atmospheric Physics and is the founder and inventor of SkyScroll. He recently won the prize for “Best Geoengineering 2.0 Lightning Talk” at the Arctic Repair conference in Cambridge, UK.
Martin will explain his patented design for SkyScroll - a compound airship, which unrolls a buoyant flat envelope in the lower stratosphere. Capable of shading an area of up-to two square kilometres, SkyScroll is a platform for delivering an “airborne sunshade”. It could be a good short-term complement to the space sunshade, by shading rapidly-deteriorating environments like the Arctic ocean, glaciated regions or reef systems.
