Join me in this free, live master class and...

Let’s get some insight from that data!

In this live master class, we’re going to have a close look at Plotnine, a Python package based on the grammar of graphics. Its API is similar to ggplot2, a widely successful R package. Thanks to its concise and consistent syntax you'll be able to create high-quality data visualizations in a quick and iterative manner that are suitable for both exploration and communication.

What you’ll learn in this master class

  • The benefits of Plotnine over other visualization packages such as matplotlib and seaborn.

  • Easily create bar charts, line plots, scatter plots, histograms, and box plots.

  • The fundamentals of the grammar of graphics.

  • The difference between exploratory and communicatory graphics.

  • Customize axes, labels, facets, color mappings and other aspects.

  • Resources to continue learning about this exciting topic.

Prerequisites

Some experience with Python is helpful but definitely not required. Even if you've never programmed before, you'll still be able to get some valuable lessons out of this master class. If you want to follow along, you need a recent version of Python together with the packages plotnine and pandas.

Recording

If you can't make it then you can always watch the edited recording on YouTube. Register to get an email once it's available. With that said, I strongly recommend you join the session so you can ask questions directly to me and join the breakout discussions.

About Jeroen

One more thing...

On May 12, I'm giving another free, live master class about Web Scraping with Python and Beautiful Soup. Useful if you want to learn to create an interesting data set to visualize!
