Native Plant Walk
Join us for a guided walk through the beautiful Ernest E. Debs park and Audubon Center, led by plant experts Brynne McKee and Scarlett Turner. Together, we’ll explore the history of LA’s native plant life and the importance of preserving these species in our own backyards.
Throughout the walk, we’ll examine both native and non-native plant species commonly found in the area, learning how they contribute to LA’s unique landscape and how we can help protect them for future generations.
The pace of the walk will be slower, allowing us to connect with the plants and each other. Along the way, we’ll have opportunities for meditation, sketching, and journaling at various points throughout the park - some left undisturbed to support native and non-native plants, and others carefully tended to preserve native species.
We'll conclude with time to sit and look through a selection of native plant books.
Sliding scale tickets are available for $5-$30. By signing up for this event, I consent to being in photos that might be used for promotional purposes.
