Join us for our bad ideas build day in collaboration with Women in Engineering @ York, open to all of Yorkshire and beyond 🚀 This event is aimed at women with a background in STEM, an interest in entrepreneurship, and is powered by Advanced Research + Invention Agency (ARIA)

​​​In the Build Day, you'll collaborate with a team—potentially including people you've never worked with before—to develop a deliberately 'bad' idea. Teams will be formed based on coding skill levels, and you'll utilise tools like HTML, CSS, & React to bring your concept to life. The challenge is to rapidly transform an idea from zero to a presentable state, all without the pressure of perfectionism.

​The Tech Bros is a social enterprise run by Milette and Sedinam with the aim of funding female-founded tech companies. We target exclusively women in highly technical fields, with a focus on postgrads and PhDs, and help them go from 0 to 1 through our hands-on events. We're launching our accelerator program in the summer of 2025, with a particular focus on AI / ML, robotics, aerospace, and quantum startups. ​The Advanced Research + Invention Agency (ARIA) is a UK R&D funding agency built to unlock scientific and technological breakthroughs that benefit everyone. ARIA empowers scientists and engineers, from their Programme Directors to the teams they fund, with the resources and freedom to pursue breakthroughs at the edge of the possible.

​The Women in Engineering Society at York is open to anyone interested in technology, and supporting a diverse group of young engineers!  They aim to create a community where everyone can feel supported in their studies and feel equipped for their future career - their activities are an opportunity to tackle the issues that most often make women leave the field such as a lack of work life balance, careers guidance, recognition or valuable work.
