About Event

At OCF, we use AI to build solutions for some of the toughest challenges when it comes to greening the electricity grid – and we’d like your help!

Last month, 45% of Great Britain's electricity came from zero carbon sources, but our largest source of generation was still fossil fuel based.*

With the power of AI, we believe we can accelerate the industry’s transition to renewables by making zero carbon sources even more efficient.

Take our solar forecasting tool, Quartz Solar, as an example. Using AI, ML and a range of data sources, our forecast has produced results 2x more accurate than any previous forecast for National Grid ESO, the electricity system operator for Great Britain.

That’s where you come in! We know that we can create these solutions faster and more effectively, together. That means making as much of our code and data as open as possible, and encouraging our community to actively contribute.

If you have technical skills and would like to learn how you can use them for good, or if you're interested in learning more about greening the grid, then join OCF co-founder, Jack Kelly, and Community Manager, Emily Webster, for our webinar introducing our open community.

Sound interesting? We have multiple ways you can get involved in the community, here’s what we’ll be sharing at the event ⬇️

⚡ More about who we are, and why we care about transitioning our electricity grid as quickly as possible!

⚡Clear steps of how you can contribute to our open community, and what kind of impact your contributions can have

⚡Our upcoming community events calendar

We believe that by keeping code and data as open as possible, we can create a safer future for us all. Come join our mission.

We can’t wait to see you there!

Open Climate Fix is a not-for-profit that was born in 2019 out of a seemingly simple observation: there is a huge barrier between the energy industry and the researchers working on cutting-edge tech solutions that solve some of the most pressing problems the industry is facing, including reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
