Gathering of Gatherers

​Some rad humans across New York City are bringing people together for everything from bike clubs to trivia nights. These are not events where people show up one time and head back to life as they know it. These are communities of people who keep getting together over what they care about. 

​To celebrate and get to know the club hosts, community leaders, and people bringing people together across the city, we’re hosting a screening of Join or Die and conversation.

​What to expect:

• ​7:00 pm: Watch the film
  Join or Die follows the research of Robert Putnam, whose thesis is that the future of democracy depends on people joining clubs in their local communities.

• ​8:30 pm: Chat
  Once the film is over, we’ll invite folks to break out and chat with other community organizers, hosts, and folks bringing people together. Swap stories of what's worked in bringing your people together, and what you need support on.

​We just celebrated a year hosting Brooklyn Euchre Club, and we've had so much fun getting to know new people and our neighborhood through it! As we grow and evolve, we've wanted to talk to other club hosts, community organizers, and gatherers to get fresh inspiration and discuss our big questions. We're excited to host this gathering of gatherers to do just that!
