3D Beading
Momo Manalang (Baeyani Beads) is a queer, Filipino beader from Queens. For over a year in 2019, Momo integrated with women political prisoners of Gabriela Philippines who were formerly incarcerated in response to their human rights work in service to the Filipino people. 3D beading became a means to bring to prominence their cause for justice, to organize those in prisons, and to provide financial support for their loved ones championing campaigns for their unconditional release.
In her workshop, Momo will share stories of political prisoners from the Philippines and explain the significance of 3D beading within this community.
This workshop is for beginner levels so all are welcome to participate!
