About Event

About the Event

The first Parallel Society Congress is an invitation to discuss some of the most pressing questions we face as a civilisation. What will succeed the waning 400-year-old nation-state technology? How can we unlock the value latent in inefficient governance and its institutions? Is this how crypto can live up to its initial promise?

Inspired by Eastern European dissidents living under repressive regimes, instead of fighting a rigged system head-on, we are creating state-of-the-art technology, alternative media, autonomous physical communities, and parallel educational institutions that operate independently of centralised authorities – protecting human societies through technology and innovation.

Programming

The programming aims to provide a multi-purpose platform and meeting ground for a range of projects that position the ideas behind new forms of governance.

To support this nascent coalition our partners will host activations, talks, and workshops in the venue. Alongside, informal spaces will encourage and support genuine connections and conversations around:

  • The current shortcomings of the nation state and how to unlock the trillion dollar opportunity in governance.

  • Best practices for starting and growing pop-up communities and network nations.

  • The latest around regulatory arbitrage, special economic zones and charter cities around the world.

  • The opportunities and challenges of decentralised legal systems.

  • The technological basis needed to support parallel societies and institutions globally.

The spacious ground floor area will be open to hang out, network, eat, and drink while you connect with potential collaborators for your alternate-future-building project. We encourage you to engage with the activities you're most passionate about.

How far is the venue from the Queen Sirikit Convention Centre (DevCon)?
The venue is approximately 10 minutes by taxi without traffic and 10 minutes by MRT underground train.

How do I register for tickets?
All registration and ticketing will take place through our Luma page.

Is there parking on site?
No. However, you can park your vehicle at Samyan Mitrtown mall for an affordable day rate.

What public transport is close to the venue?
Samyan MRT station is five minutes away by foot. Use Exit 2 and follow the crowd through the left tunnel for ease of walk. From the Siam BTS station, the venue is only 10 minutes away via a motorcycle taxi.

Will there be food?
We will have local street food stalls at lunchtime and in the early evening. Drinks are available for the duration of the event and local craft beer from 17:00.

What if I have special dietary requests?
Upon getting your ticket please notify us, and we will do our best to accommodate. We have some vegetarian options, but we need to pre-order, so please confirm if you require them.
