👉 Daniel-Jan Girl - CEO at Global Goals für Berlin e.V., Chairman of the Supervisory Board at EXPO 2035 Berlin
EXPO 2035 Berlin: A Vision for a Global, Sustainable Metropolis
What if Berlin became the host of a new kind of World Expo—one that puts sustainability, digital innovation, and social cohesion at its core? In this talk, Daniel-Jan Girl presents the vision behind EXPO 2035 and the Global Goals for Berlin initiative, outlining how cities can become global platforms for transformation. With Berlin as the stage, he invites us to rethink urban futures through radical collaboration, bold ideas, and civic imagination.
Daniel-Jan Girl has been building digital solutions since the early 2000s – from loyalty apps to smart mirrors. As founder of DGMK and former President of the Berlin Chamber of Commerce, he knows how to turn ideas into impact. Now, he’s channelling that experience into a bold vision: preparing Berlin for EXPO 2035 and shaping the city’s innovative future.
👉 Lisa Wendzich - Policy Advisor on energy at SenWEB Berlin, Co-founder/ former CEO at SunCrafter GmbH
The Silent Shift – What Europe’s New Industrial Strategy Tells Us About Democracy and Transition
Europe’s climate and industrial policy is shifting — from ambitious targets to a growing awareness of social and economic fragility. Based on her experience as an entrepreneur and public policy strategist, Lisa Wendzich explores why this shift is not a weakness, but a deepening. She argues that a just and democratic transformation must be rooted in empathy, fairness, and real-life economic logic. Without the people, we lose the transition.
Lisa is a policy advisor on energy at the Berlin Senate Department for Economic Affairs, Energy and Enterprises, and the co-founder and former CEO of SunCrafter, a Berlin-based startup pioneering circular, off-grid solar solutions. At SunCrafter, she led strategic and policy work to scale second-life PV systems for energy access and sustainable mobility. With a background in energy economics and circular economy, she bridges entrepreneurship and public service to advance just and resilient energy systems.
👉 Megan Thudium - Managing Director & Content Lead at Content For Good & Co.
Be part of the solution, not the pollution: Are you on the right side of history?
As our attention fixates on fossil fuel industry misinformation and corporate greenwashing, there is an industry behind every one of those campaigns that remains untouched and undiscussed. It’s communications—and many marketers and creatives have helped contribute to misleading green narratives and greenwashing for over fifty years. This topic will explore communications’ impact on people and the planet—and how we can transition from being the influencers of endless pollution to green progress.
Megan is a climate communicator and marketing strategist working in Berlin, founder of Content For Good & Co. She works primarily with innovative climate brands and B-Corp™ in Germany and Europe. Her impact mission is to reshape marketing to be people and planet first, committed to SDG 12 “Responsible Consumption & Production”.
