🍷 Wine Wednesday – Priorat with David Forer MW 🍇
Pour yourself a glass and join us for Wine Wednesday, our weekly live stream where Jana uncorks a bottle, chats about wine, and spills the latest dVIN updates.
This week, we’re honored to host a very special guest: David Forer MW. Born in England and raised in Canada, David achieved the prestigious Master of Wine title in 2017 (https://davidforermw.com/). With a rich background spanning continents, he brings a global perspective to the world of wine. David is not only a seasoned wine consultant and strategic advisor to numerous wine and spirits start-ups but also a passionate vintner.
In 2018, David co-founded Clos Salanca in Priorat, Spain, alongside Franck Massard (https://clossalanca.com/). Their shared vision led them to cultivate vineyards with vines over a century old, embracing organic and regenerative farming practices. David's commitment to producing wines that reflect the true essence of Priorat's unique terroir is evident in every bottle.
We'll delve into what makes Priorat so distinctive—from its ancient licorella (slate) soils to its intense, age-worthy Garnacha and Cariñena. David will share firsthand insights on farming these extreme hillsides, crafting world-class wines at Clos Salanca, and how this special region has captivated collectors worldwide.
In tandem with this week’s dVIN Labs article –
“The Future of Wine Trading: dVIN’s Protocol-First Approach to Ecosystem Building” – we’ll also discuss how open blockchain protocols and tokenization are reshaping the world of fine wine. David will weigh in on why Priorat’s fiercely independent producers and traditional values align so well with the open, collaborative spirit of the dVIN Protocol.
