AsPIring Transformation
On the occasion of APOGEE, Student Alumni Relations Cell in collaboration with Postman brings to you “AsPIring Transformations”, a fireside chat with Mr Abhijit Kane, the Co-Founder of Postman and the announcement of Postman API Lab at BITS Pilani.
A 2013 alumnus, Mr Abhijit Kane co-founded Postman, an API Platform for building and using APIs, along with two of his former BITSian colleagues, Abhinav Asthana and Ankit Sobti. Postman started simply as a side project to solve a specific problem: Abhinav Asthana, Postman's CEO and co-founder, set out to create a tool that would simplify the API testing process. As the tool's usage quickly exploded, the three of them came together to create Postman, Inc. It is used by over 17 million developers and 500,000 companies today. You would have used Postman in almost all your projects if you are a developer.
Agenda for the event:
Fireside Chat with Mr. Abhijit Kane about his life at BITS, the journey of building Postman, a SaaS giant and the API Ecosystem developed by Postman across the world.
We would also be announcing the Postman API Lab at our campus, in the PIEDS Innovation and Incubation Centre, which will help promote API literacy amongst BITSians and aspiring developers.
The event will also be the culmination of BITS Pilani Postman API Hackathon 1.0, a week-long event where students from all four campuses of BITS came together to build impactful full-stack applications using APIs, the event will also showcase and felicitate great student projects in the hackathon.
The event will also be live-streamed on the official Student Alumni Relations Cell Youtube channel.
