Understanding the Capability Curve of AI systems vs Traditional Software

​In this talk we explore why development of AI systems if very different from development of IT/traditional software systems

​To understand this we will use Capability/ROI growth Curve of AI systems.

​If we were to plot a graph between Capabilities of a system on Y axis and time on X-axis, then what does this curve look like. Turns out that curve for a AI system is very different from curve for a IT/traditional software systems

​Using this curve, one can answer crucial questions: the right process for developing AI systems, when to hire AI scientists with PhDs, why AI companies' profit margins will never exceed 40% unlike SaaS companies with 80-85%, and more.
