Trustless Bridges

​Trustless bridging: the interoperability trilema and the impotance of light client protocols. A deep dive into domain's runtime incompatibilities, the challenges using light clients as a bridging solution with different consensus mechanisms and the solutions present in the current market.

​Web3 has evolved into an ecosystem of L1 blockchains and L2 scaling solutions, each designed with unique capabilities and trade-offs. As the number of blockchains protocols increases, so does the demand to move assets across chains. To fulfill this demand, we need bridges. Trustless bridges operate using smart contracts and algorithms. They are trustless, i.e., the security of the bridge is the same as that of the underlying blockchain. Through smart contracts, trustless bridges enable users to remain in control of their funds.
