📍Brisbane - International Generalist Day Meetup
International Generalist Day 2025 🌍
Imagine you could meet new friends who understood your squiggly background? Well, now you can!
Join Li Tan in Brisbane for International Generalist Day - a global celebration happening simultaneously across cities worldwide on September 3rd, 2025.
This year we have events across 30+ countries and 80+ locations!
Li is hosting a fantastic evening of dinner, drinks and delightfully random skill sharing! Get ready for good food, interactive games, and a room full of awesome multi-hyphenated folks ready to swap everything from life hacks to wonderfully useless but useful tricks.
What is a generalist? Professionals who apply their skills across multiple domains, connect disparate ideas, or serve as "translators" between different teams and disciplines. If you've ever felt your career doesn't fit in a single box, this celebration is for you.
What to expect:
Connect with fellow generalists in your city
Celebrate the power of diverse skillsets and squiggly careers
Be part of a global movement happening the same day worldwide
Dinner & drinks in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere
Simple skills show & tell - share your favorite life hacks and tricks
Interactive dinner games designed for laughs and connections
Making genuine friends and swapping ideas with curious minds
More details:
Format: Dinner gathering with skill sharing and interactive games
Transport: Best reached by public transport - follow the fairy lights when you arrive!
Food & drinks: Pay-your-own meals and drinks
What to prep: A simple skill to share - anything goes! Think shoelace-tying speed tricks, perfect paper planes, fitted sheet folding without swearing, or any delightfully useful life hack
Your host Li is a social impact project juggler, mental health advocate, DJ, weird-skill collector by passion and always trying new things. Her favorite part about being a generalist? "I get to be anything I want, try all the things, dive into new stuff, and just live life without feeling stuck. Why settle for one hat when you can wear all of them?"
As Li shares: "I'm excited to meet other generalists and share our journey and where we're at :) but honestly, I'm also keen to see what random skills everyone's bringing. I need more fun little tricks in my life!"

Please note: These events are hosted by volunteer hosts from around the world. While we're doing our best to standardize the experience and ensure everyone has an amazing time, please take care of yourselves and use your best judgment when attending events.
This event is organised by Generalist World - a community for professionals with non-traditional careers. Everyone is welcome, whether you're a member or simply curious about connecting with adaptable, multi-skilled professionals.
