This Is CDR: Nakivale - Uganda's Refugee-Led Biochar Enterprise.

​The Nakivale Biochar Project empowers refugee farmers in Uganda's Nakivale settlement to produce biochar, enhancing soil fertility and sequestering carbon. Utilizing mobile-based monitoring and verification technology, the project enables participants to generate and directly sell carbon removal credits via a blockchain-based platform, providing a sustainable income stream through their sale on the voluntary carbon market.
