Public Goods Town Hall #9: Creators for the Commons 🎨
At Funding the Commons, we are committed to exploring every layer of public goods infrastructure—not just technical systems, but the cultural and narrative work that brings them to life.
In our upcoming Town Hall: Creators for the Commons, we plan to spotlight journalists, artists, researchers, community coordinators, and other storytellers whose work preserves collective memory, shapes public imagination, and helps make public goods legible and meaningful.
As the public goods ecosystem grows, it also faces new challenges: fragmentation, misalignment, and fatigue. The cultural layer helps make sense of that complexity. It connects people to purpose, brings context to new tools, and carries forward shared values. Supporting this work means treating narrative, memory, and meaning-making as core infrastructure—so what we build isn’t just functional, but understood, trusted, and built to last.
This session will explore how narrative and cultural contributions complement technical innovation—and why they’re essential for long-term resilience.
We’ll be joined by:
Nidhi Harihar (VoiceDeck)
Stina Gustafsson (Independent Curator)
Joshua Davila (Breadchain Cooperative)
Ryan Taylor (DWeb Berlin Node)
Eoghan O'Keeffe (epok.tech)
Sven H (Incented)
