Nusantara in Melbourne: Celebrating Indonesian Heritage Abroad - Melbourne #AsianHeritageWeek
This event is a part of #AsianHeritageWeek by Asian Hustle Network (AHN), celebrating the Asian community worldwide
Join us for Nusantara in Melbourne, a vibrant celebration of Indonesian culture right here in the heart of the city! Hosted by the Australia Indonesia Youth Association (AIYA) – Melbourne Chapter in collaboration with Asian Hustle Network, this event brings together the Indonesian diaspora and the wider Melbourne community to connect, celebrate, and share in the richness of Indonesian heritage.
Expect a lively festival of cultural connection — featuring a panel on Australian and Indonesian cross-cultural identity and heritage, a hands-on music workshop, and interactive activities like traditional letter writing and the beloved ‘rangku alu’ bamboo dance. We will also bring traditional dishes which may bring new tastes or nostalgia to you (especially if you've travelled to Indonesia before like Bali!)
Whether you're looking to explore your roots, learn something new, or expand your network, this is a great chance to connect with new people, meet passionate changemakers from AHN and AIYA communities, and celebrate what makes our culture so special.
Come for the culture, stay for the community.
Let’s bring a piece of Indonesia to Melbourne!
